get a 749S then, I doubt theres much in it performance wise and if you can live with the looks you'll be sorted. We paid £5400 for Liz's one which is the one in the pic under my GSXR...

675's are IMHO getting as common as GSXR's are.. whereas you dont see that many 749 / 999's about so you still get that wow factor with it.

Running costs and reliability arent as bad as you think they are either.

You, well surely your not gonna let other people decide for you? The idea of a bike for you, is for what you want.
Hell no! But it helps present alternatives that I may not have thought about. I've not owned a sports bike and with me getting on a bit I would be pi55ed not to have had that experience before move onto a comfy armchair bike etc.HA!HA!

Awaits the

'the my engine management light has come on again/Bike has used 1ltr of oil in 1000 miles/ bike in limp home mode again/ Strange electrical fault problem!'

threads then

I love the 675's, hell I nearly bought one and pretty much put a deposit down on one but.......there always that niggle about reliability and service/repair bill when they gone wrong.....which they do and was the main reason I looked elsewhere in the end.

Just as bad as 'older' ducatis

That's why I went GSXR, plan on doing 40k kms in the next 4 years and I know they can take it.

I'm not saying the 675s can't, it's just I'm not sure, I was very tempted (although 750 GSXRs are cheaper out here which swayed the final decision).
