When you pushed the lever back ( you did, didn't you ? ) the choke went off?

Sounds like a fuelling issue to me. Is the tank venting properly, check the vent hole and pipe for obstruction (or just open the cap). Whilst at it check the overflow and breather pipes from the carbs, sometimes the bottoms get blocked with chain lube/road muck. Is the air filter clean and unobstructed? Finally how clean is the tank (inside). Perhaps as you got down to the dregs it sucked up some debris. Check the fuel line from the tank for blockage (not sure on an SV, sometimes there is a little gauze filter on the tank pickup).

Well i have spark and they are in good condition, tbh i have no idea what to look for when it comes to leaks, the air box was secure but have no way of balancing the carbs.
Next up i guess i better check the fuel system. |

Would I be right in thinking that each carb has it's own filter (in the body of the carb), is it possible for one of these to have become blocked and therefore leave the bike on one cylinder?

well despite the petrol light only just beginning to flash it seems after some fresh petrol it started much easier but still sounded rough. Im guessing it has sucked some debris in somewhere but dont have a clue where to start looking
![]() Oh and the plugs looked new as id expect! |

did your rev counter just stop working and go down to nothing but the engine was still running, despite being rough?
