Codswallop IMO! £85ish (IIRC) initial join up fee which includes test, £35 (at my group) per year for an Associate Member (pre-test) includes one observed training session per month and several slow control days. My group are also doing Associate member rideouts.

I personally think (and I've said this on numerous occasions so nothing personal) it is really irresponsible when people try to put others off learning how to analyse and improve their own riding which results in their ability to ride more smoothly, more defensively, more safely, and as a consequence more progressively.

I think I may be correct when I say that the IAM subscription for the year, and the observe rides that Ryan has started (something I have also signed up for but as yet not started....that is another story) has been funded by the group. I think the only expenditure may well be observer fuel costs....which is nice!

Quite possibly I don't know - but I do know that I pay £35 subs per year at my group. You only pay observer fuel costs with our group if you are assigned to an observer to arrange your own sessions (which I don't do atm) - the monthly rides are completely in with the annual subs (in our group anyway).

I suppose I have become far too defensive of advanced training, and I tend to take the bait, hook line and sinker!.....just habit I suppose

Never mind I will soon chill out on my bike today in the glorious sunshine in the glorious and beautiful twisties heaven of rural Essex

Just seen your thread. So glad that you are OK. The bike looks a bit of a mess but I hope it wont cost too much to repair.

I put a thread on the forum this time last week (http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=129694), which has been quite well received. I had a similar 'moment' last Saturday but I think I was very lucky. There but for the grace of God etc etc. I would like to say that my talent saved me but that would be rubbish, as I don't have any.

I have been out on the bike since then a couple of times but confidence is still pretty low and I am taking it very carefully. However, I am still keen to do some IAM or Bikesafe courses.

I hope it wont be long before you are back in the saddle.

All the best

Nice work. The bike looks mint.

Is that the standard SV red?
