Oh? What makes you say that? No build quality issues on my 675.

Might just have been the one I saw in the stealers like. It was one of the first R models and I had a sit. Even though it was brand new it felt a bit cheap when I sat on it and the paint and finish just didn't seem as good as the jap bikes. Perhaps I'm being ultra picky. It wouldnt bother me to be honest cos I keep things clean and normally use them in the dry so i'm sure it would last. But There is always also the fear its going to burn a lot of oil as well and that has put me off (just) enough so far!!

I rode a 2009 675 and a Trip R on the same day - 675 grounded nice bike etc, Trip R something not right but cant put my finger on it possibly bars too wide didnt have the excitement of an SV! So I brought neither!

Is that all the problem is with the triumphs then?
I don't run bikes in particularly softly as the rings etc dont bed in as well if you're chugging about everywhere.
So there is even less holding me back now!

Why would they recommend that you dont thrash them if you should!?

My bike was burning a little oil (1/2L every 4K miles) but now after another 15K it dont burn any... Some engines probably need a bit more time to free up and bed in?

IMO it needs treating fairly gently for a short while, then occasionally allowed to rev under light throttle, but not lugged. Obviously don't batter it off the limiter straight out of the showroom though

When manual says "<4krpm" or whatever, so people go up a hill at 2000rpm with throttle wide open and it going "grumblesnortflapp" that will put more damaging heat into everything than letting it rev free in a lower gear with less throttle on.

One guy who races big old suzukis reckons 2 gentle passes up the 1/4 mile, then go flat out. But that's not exactly the same as a road engine...

One of the kawasaki mechanics reckoned they were good for that, and he'd know. Every new bike is given a TEST run by a mechanic so they've alll probably been bounced off the limiters from the showroom
