Hayden has struggled all year, so to finish fifth is a good result in the circumstances. Its also way better than the other Ducati riders. There is something odd about the way the Stoner / Ducati partnership works and I don't think anyone would be as quick as Stoner on that bike.

I agree about JT, but there are big rumours that Edwards is WSB Aprillia bound next season.

Harsh on Hayden.

Think he is a quality rider who deserves his shot.

If he can get some results on the Duke then good fer him.

JT has been a disappointment this year. Last year he was ace so what went wrong? this black flag is not gonna please as he would have got good points and more track time if he did the drive thru.

I am glad to see Hayden doing as well as he is. His riding is much better the Melandri's was last year and Melandri is no slouch on a bike

Seems to me they threw Melandri to the wolves but have really tried to help Hayden out.

I think if Hayden was Tech 3 then he would be doing a better job than some others. Can't imagine Edwards giving up a MotoGP place if a seat can be found to go to WSB.

Anyway...Hayden is a Laguna Seca race winner twice on the bounce so if he don't do well there then he ain't go good anywhere.

I'm bewildered by the support for Hayden and the criticism for Toseland on here, must be the old British desease creeping in!
OK, neither of them are good enough but generally speaking JT is closer to his team mate (and usually the lead Yamaha) than Forest Gump is to his.

I'm not particularly fond of Gump and I think it's a travesty that he managed to win a championship with only 2 race wins at that time and 3 now (correct me if I'm wrong but didn't 2 of those come at Laguna?) I guess he will be able to stick around as long as the US remain interested in MotoGP and he has a team mate who is taking the focus but without those factors he'd be out as quick as JT and before now.

I don't totally agree. I think Haydn is a very good rider. The fact is he managed to win a championship that has a certain Valentino Rossi and Casey Stoner in it, not counting the fact he was Honda's number 2 rider behind their 'new hope' Dani Pedrosa...
