He survived the crash put passed away in the Air Ambulance on route to Preston. I am absolutely gutted and cannot stop thinking about him - he was a great a lad and always happy.

Danny Mate - RIP.

RIP.

Never good when this happens, but like someone else said he was doing something he loved when he died.

Not much comfort but its something.

Sorry to read he was a mate of yours Matt, I have been given some sketchy secondhand details but few facts so I cannot put them on a forum.

Blackburn Road where it happened is not a good bikers road. It is a utility road allowing traffic to get the heck out of Chorley without fighting the A6/M61 traffic design cockups. There is one idiot who lives on this stretch of road conducting a personal road safety campaign and I have to warn you will probably jump on this as more justification of his idiotic rants.

I am from Whittle but now live in Clayton, I know of Danny and so does my daughter who told me of Saturday of his death and was shocked.

I can give you know words of comfort for the loss of a mate. Beyond he was on his bike, something he loved to do.

RIP Danny

Thanks TimWilky, I too grew up in Whittle Le Woods and next month I am moving back to Clayton Le Woods after a 9yr gap. I have found out some more about the accident and also took a ride up about an hour ago to pay my respects at the scene. As you say its not for the Forum to speculate and give specifics - but looking at the markings its fairly clear what happened. His passing will be marked by many and also act as a reminder to the group he rode with the consequences of our 'sport'.

Hopefully get to meet some of you guys soon - I felt it wrong to mention but I picked up my new bike on Friday a CBR600 which I just fell in love with. Hopefully I can stay as part of the community as you all seem so friendly and helpful.

Rgds, Matt
