Seriously mate i cant believe an intelligent guy like you would say that. ALL addictions are treatable and "curable" to a lesser or greater degree.

No. But having been awake since 3.30am, and no likelihood of going back to sleep, I sure as hell wish I had something, legal or not

I've never touched or even tried drugs, I had much better things to do with my life growing up in South Africa.

Oh and I don't drink alcohol either, or smoke cigarettes.

Now I'm waiting for all the 'oh you sad loser' comments about how I'm either missing out or how I am a prude.

Those who have met me (and myself) will laugh at these because we know what I am like and that I certainly don't need drink or drugs to have fun.
I've had a wonderful life, like everyone, I've had my ups and downs but I think that I'm lucky and that if I died tomorrow, I couldnt ask for anything more and none of it is down to relying on substances to make me happy.

I've also seen drugs and alcohol screw up people's lives.

Dabbled a bit about 12 years ago but not since i had the kids and never felt the desire to try anything 'harder'. I am in two minds about this.
On one hand my ex smoked a lot of weed in his younger days which led to him experimenting with a few stronger things and i do think it has had a permanent affect on his mental state, not a huge effect but one he refuses to acknowledge.
On the other hand a part of me would rather my teenage kids had a few spliffs quietly in their rooms and just chilled until they fell asleep and ultimately grew out of it, rather than have them going out binge drinking, behaving recklessly, getting into trouble and potentially causing long term physical damage to themselves.

Having watched a show on bb3 last night about salvi and legal highs I've realised its not just illegal drugs but abusing anything that gives you an altered state thats dangerous ( alcohol included). A turning point was where they showed a home chemist buying research drugs to get him off his head and then watching a video of students that had done it in the US suffering with symptoms like Parkinsons.

You have one noggin why f**k around with it , rather use it to its full potential !

The likelihood of having far reaching health problems are much greater with drug useage, especially as far as mental health is concerned.

Having said that, in my opinion anyone who is involved in drug use is off their bloody head to start with.

Why would anyone say that? Yeh you're missing out because you don't spend 40 quid on a weekend just to forget what fun you had.

Each to their own... i don't drink because i don't really like alcohol, doesn't taste all that nice unless you've done a hard days graft and it's sunny out, and fags just make my mouth taste disgusting but i suppose i would get used to that ^.^ i'm too much of a cheapskate to buy a pack of fags a day anyway :P
