Wait - it's an SRAD wheel! WTF! I put 750 K3 brake discs on there fine though?
And the old spacer, it is similar to the picture you sent, Chris, with the two caps on the end. I will take a pic tomorrow but it's basically identical to the srad wheel pic that was sent by 21QUEST. Last edited by chakraist; 10-10-09 at 07:50 PM. |

750K3 brake discs are same, they are all 320mm flat ones.

So - the spacer should be too long, the left bearing should go against the lip, the bigger spacer should go on the left hand bearing, the right hand bearing should go against the spacer- leaving everything exactly the way it was before I started ****ing about.
? Also, in taking the bearings out, the stuck one, I managed to get it almost out and then hammered out the inner races. How did I even manage to do that? So I have now a metal rim stuck in my wheel. Any ideas? I've used a crowbar so far as I can't get a lip on the bearing from the other side, but I can't see it happening. Last edited by chakraist; 11-10-09 at 04:55 PM. |

Okay, I went out and bought a dremel and dremelled the hell out of the outer race that was stuck, finally got it out and am waiting on the bearings now. Should be good. The SRAD spacer that needs to go in, however, has one end that is lipped where the lip is larger than the other end, i.e., it's slightly asymmetrical. The SRAD manual makes no mention of this- does anyone know whether the big end of the spacer should sit against the left bearing, the flush one, or against the 'floating' right hand side one?
Thanks again guys. |

Hmmm, I was sure my wheel has lip for bearing to locate positively on both sides.
On my parts fiche above it looks like the lip is on the right (if they've put it the right way around in pic)

Okay - so fitted the bearings no problem and the issues have completely gone. Started with the left and the spacer was flush to both ends. Win. Thanks again.

Thanks dude! Glad to know people are following my inane bike issues. I binned it earlier - cold Qualifier RR + hard braking at 50 = **** + bent subframe + broken LHS fairing to be fibreglass welded.
