My Thundercat and BlackBird fans come on only when town riding, but on both you can FEEL why it should come on, boiled spuds anyone?
Once moving, a steady 15mph+ cools it all fine.

Mine comes on whenever the engine temp reaches 103C (I think) and goes off at 98C...
Isn't very often - bike normally runs at high 80's - low 90's. |

I have a sort of related question to engine cooling.
How is it that no matter the air temp, and the speed I ride at / revs I hold for a given speed, the temp will not drop lower than a certain value (about 82)? Is it a simple case of thermodynamic equilibrium, or is there more to it? |

Here's another weird one - when doing a constant speed on dual carriageway, I often see my temperature gauge (K5) cycle in a sine-wave between around 79-80 and 86-87. Anyone else noticed this? It's done it since new and seems fine other than that.
