well we got sent home yesterday as our rural roads were starting to flood. The office looks like an island where the local river has burst its banks and flooded all around it but roads where fine so far but our guys have been out most of the night. Rains eased off here but we are due for another bucket tomorrow

Just saw on the news a rescue worker slinging a perky office girl over his shoulder and CARRYING HER to dry land. And then going back for her even perkier (with glasses) friend.

Woof woof!

But had edited by the time I saw it. Yes he is home, but I have heard the Water Rescue Team he used to work with has been called out from N. Wales to Cumbria. So trying to find out if he is going to be going there. Seems a little daft, seeing as their base in the Conwy Valley was almost flooded. I guess the thought is that we have things under control around here and the events in Cumbria are extreme, needing a massive response.
