Good luck Ed

I gave up about 10 years ago, I loved fishing at the time and used to smoke 40 fags during a 5 hour fishing match !

After I gave up did not fish again for years as just could not fish without smoking

Cheers Steve

Good luck Ed.

Preaching never stopped anyone from smoking EVER.. everyone knows the risks and they still cant stop themselves.

I quit about a year and a half ago after having smoked from the age of 14.

I managed to do it and donīt have cravings now, nor did I in the first few weeks.

I would seriously suggest anyone who wants to quit read Allan Carrīs, The easy way... it has a phenominal success rate and was written by a very heavy smoker who is able to give a different perspective on the habit.

Best of luck Ed!
I know you can do it. It's all a matter of mindset.

.....and I need to as well.
Quit for 19 months and started back.
The problem is.... I like smoking.

i said that until i seen first hand what damage it had done to my artery's... going from a 'you might just need a couple of stents' to 'sorry sir but we are going to have to give you a by-pass'.

Dont do what my mate did. He gave up smoking and stopped. He is now instead addicted to Nicorette Lozenge's though...

+1, except on the craving front. I haven't craved for one for 4 months or so, the cravings just seemed to stop after a year.

When I gave up, I bought a brand new pack of Embassy and kept them in the glove box of my work van, this means that I never needed to go and buy fags, just needed to not want to smoke them. I made it all about will power, and not about cravings. I know it seems weird, but it works for me.

It helps that I am stubborn as fook too!

Good luck, and don't give up the giving up!

I also did it cold turkey, with no help from anyone, or anything, just a little understanding from the better half!

Just share my story.

i am only 20 years of age but had been smoking for around 4 years, around 15 a day.

Its all thanks to my accident i had a few months back on the bike ...

On the 13 of August I had an off and i was in hospital for 8 days can couldnt move there for couldnt have a cig ... and when i got back home i couldnt move for a another 2-3 weeks by the time i could move around again the cravings had stopped.

Now i only have a smoke when i have had a few beers ... and its only the odd one or two but in the morning i wish i didnt have them ...

so yeah im pritty much smoke free now.

But good luck ed ....

If all elce fails get your self put in hospital for a few weeks .. hahah
