Thank you Honey, it is funny but not every one likes my filth...
![]() On another note, yesterday evening I stripped down and smoothed off the foot peg hanger, a big lump welded steel. The welds were a bit lumpy and ugly, so with a bit of gentle filing and wire brushing, they are smooth and ready for a coat of paint. ![]() Probably going to do them in black. Not sure if I should bother to polish up the pegs, because we have been looking on line at nice anodised ones. hmmm. ![]() |

Awww, fanku
![]() In other news, Carol and I are going to spend an hour or so in the garage today trying to get the rear master cylinder off so I can polish the heel plates and brake lever. ![]() Anyone know where I can get new bushes for the gear and brake levers from? The gear one is quite worn out and I suspect that the Brake will be the same. ![]() I love my bike and I am really enjoying taking it to bits, I just hope that when it does go back together, it looks as good in reality as it does in my minds eye. ![]() ![]() |

You can't get new bushes, new levers if you're fussed. Or fit some tasty rearsets

So the wife and I wander down to the garage with her tool box and open the door, to survey the damage. She give the bolts a tap and pops in her Snap On keys and with hardly any effort, she undoes the bolts. Easliy...
![]() So far I have the left hand heel plate polished to a mirror, the new top yoke polished well and the gear lever polished too. I have refitted the rubber toe to the lever and it looks stunning. I cannot believe that this is the same part. ![]() There is a down side though. My hands are taking a beating and my skin feels like old cracked leather. I am going to run out of moisturiser at this rate. Only a few things to polish and then I can start the next bit. ![]() |

rounding bolts off is usually using the wrong size tool for the job even by one size.

So I have been polishing and really enjoyed it, every dank second...
![]() ![]() I turned our sitting room into a workshop because it was too cold and uncomfortable to work in the Garage. The gentle action of polishing has been good physiotherapy for my aching shoulder and neck and I am healing rapidly and I am sure that this has helped. ![]() The result though has been worth it. Maybe not the best job in the world, but I am limited by will power and stamina. ![]() Each item has a mirror polish on it and looks amazing. Now what else can I do? ![]()
