Its a completely different mounting. The Motosliders is literally a long bung directly mounted on the engine bar.. Take bar out, put new one in It sits naturally in that little recess on the the frame..not mounted on top of a mount...that your R&G ones are.

I can't vouch for which is stronger (Come on, R&G!) but the R&G ones allow for lower fairings to be on the bike.

So do the motosliders (although a little trimming is needed).

R+G are too small footprint on bike, so they fold up easily and allow more damage. Motoslider dont.

I am looking into my options of crash bungs can someone please expand on the amount of trimming (I guess of the fairing) is actually needed. The thought of drilling holes in my bike does not excite me.

Just take fairing off they don't do owt. Or if you are tart and like looks then it's just a few mm with a flap wheel on a drill, you don't have to drill through the fairing.
