And whilst everybody is wearing their underpants outside their trousers and standing there with hands on their hips in a heroic "Champion" pose , not all of us can afford Carribean holidays for 2 weeks or limited edition Triumphs . Not all of us have super duper jobs that pay great amounts . Some of us have to run Sv`s on a budget and earn a wage to just about be able to keep a roof over our own heads ...... and the bike is the only break we get in life from the mundane .

I generally go commando.. I dont have the time for holidays.. I dont have a limited edition triumph ![]() I do have a job that pays the bills well enough.. But I do agree with some of the points made by both sides of this arguement. While its wrong to take advantage of a company that is trying to make a living by selling something online.. It is also down to them to check all their adverts (or pay someone to do it for them) before they list thinks on a general market. * Heads off to get the splinters out of his a**e from sitting on the fence.. |

I got a starter relay for 40p. At the same time, I got an optimate IV for 43p.
Because the bloke on the counter at the parts shop made a mistake. My dad saw my receipt to check the price of the part to see how much I was ripped off, and pointed it out to me. That was 4 hours after purchase. My dad once got some tools very very cheap, £20 instead of £95. He knew that the seller was making a mistake, but didn't point it out, and the seller couldn't work out why everyone was buying this tool so quickly...until 2 weeks later when he came back to my dad with some other tools to sell, and mentioned his faux pas |

Mine is the limited edition Triumph. For those who don't know, it's a 675 Masterbike, 07 bike on a 08 plate, I paid £6200 for it and I would guess that it's now worth around £4500 - £4800. I don't have a super duper job that pays great amounts. I'm a self employed solicitor and whilst some will think 'oh you're rolling in money' let me tell you that because we are a property based practice our turnover has taken a hammering and I'd be better off working in Sainbsurys. The only reason that I don't is that I've invested too much to lose. It's bloody hard to be self employed at anything these days. Frankly I owe the Inland Revenue about £6K on 31st of this month and I haven't a clue how I'm going to pay it. And as for just about keeping a roof over our heads, if only you knew. That is by way of explanation. If someone tried to take advantage of you because of an innocent mistake you'd tell them to foxtrot. Someone asked whether I had ever taken advantage of anyone. For the record the answer is no. Unlike some I don't mince my words. It's dishonest. I couldn't give a monkey's whether you like it or not, I have broader shoulders than that. It's true,it's dishonest and no I wouldn't do it. Last edited by Ed; 08-01-10 at 09:42 PM. |

You know me Ed , I don`t Mince Words , and I also don`t stand for being called on something without having a say back . I do more miles in one month than most people do in a year and Tires do not last long , and at £200 a pair I am forking out around £400 a year on Tires alone minimum . And anyone that says they never took advantage of anything ever is a downright liar ................. you cannot tell me you never sneaked an extra choccy or biscuit out of the tin when somebody wasn`t looking

I have also ordered these. I emailed the company asking them if the price was correct but as yet have had no reply, i ordered the tyres 4 hours after emailing them.
I try to treat others as i would like to be treated, by emailing them first to ask for clarification i've given them the oportunity to correct it. If they say at a later date its an error and refund the money then fairs fair, or they may turn round and offer to split the difference as the shop did when i bought the wife her leathers which had been priced wrongly. It may be these are old tyres that they have found at the back of the store and want rid of. I feel it may not be a mistake cause if you look at the other prices ther are £xx.yy not £xx.00 no other tyre ends in 00p so would suggest it is a deliberate price. To put this in perspective i' the guy who walked out of a shop with anew pc then realised 3 miles down the road i had not been charged for it at all, returned to shop and told them. Manager fired the sales guy only after i returned then asked me for the full amount, i handed the pc back and told him to shove it and apologised to the sales guy, sometimes honesty is not always the best policy. |
