Some things are worth the expense. Heated gloves are one of them.

I figured out its cheaper in the long run ....

I'd spent money on heated grips, gloves after gloves, inner gloves, thermal clothes, considered muffs .....

Bit the bullet in the end, and if I'd done it in the first place I'm sure it'd been cheaper ....

Do it once .... do it properly ....

I have a spare harness actually sitting on my desk right now. If you can meet me somewhere you are free to use them whilst yours gets replaced.
By harness, what do you mean? The twin wire setup with the on/off button? I think the problem with mine is if the wire at the left hand sleeve end gets bent it turns off. Maybe I am putting them on wrong? Can't seem to fit them all together without a bit of twisting and shoving.

I have just fitted Oxford Heated grips. Not a difficult fit, £55 from Argos. Chuffed with the results... Rode in to work with my summer gloves the last 2 days on 75%. Long motorway run with my winter gloves (aldi jobs) was also fine.

Heated gloves look like more expense and faff to plug in every time.... Also I happen to rather like riding in summer race type gloves , and can see them being nice year round when the sun dissapears.

Just a thought (not saying you're wrong), but maybe you're still not keeping your core warm enough? You're pretty lean from what I remember? Everything I've ever learned about hypothermia and heat loss says that hands and feet etc are the first thing your bod will restrict blood flow to in order to keep your core warm. So your core may still be warm(ish) as a result of letting your hands get cold?

Once you're cold at the core then warming extremities may be most noticable thoug -it stands to reason that if heat can escape there quickly, it can be returned there quickly. Standing in the hot shower when I'm really cold my legs and arms warm up fast while my trunk and well-insulated (fat) areas seem to take a long time.

The thing I like about the heated vest is it's pumping heat into your body, so it can increase the flow of warm blood to your limbs to shed that extrea heat.

I'm working at home today. Thermostat is set at 15c, the radiators aren't currently on (so it's presumably at least 15c) and it's not a drafty. My hands, feet, ears, and nose are all cold to the touch.

Gerbing gloves are guaranteed for life. If ever the electrical elements in the fail, they will be repaired or replaced for free, for the life of the gloves. This covers all the electrical parts of the gloves including the harness.

As I said before. I am different to most people. I suffer from Raynauds. I have the correct clothing and never ever get cold whilst riding regardless of the weather. I could be sat in a heated spa outside in the middle of winter. If my hands were not in the water, they would turn blue. I went for a run today, I had 4 layers of clothing on and started sweating almost straight away. My hands though (even with running gloves on) were freezing and I lost feeling in all fingers. That's just the way it is when you suffer from Raynauds.

Ahh I see - I thought you meant just plain old different (if that makes any sense). I've not heard of Raynauds before, so had to look it up on Wiki (the pics look surreal). I've learned something new today

My apologies for any doubt I expressed.
