Can't really go wrong for £12 or whatever. I went into Blacks and the cheapest base layer bottoms they had were something stupid like £45.

I wear my base layers mst of the time on my bike.
My leathers are perforated so I do get a chill but more than that, they help you slide in and out of leather really well

I went in for the £12 rainsuit, which seems pretty decent quality actually, and also bought one of their £12 rucksacks too on the spur of the moment, which in fact also seems pretty darn good.
