looking at the specs the FZ6-S2 should have better low down power than the bandit650 and pulls a couple more NM and a few more horses with it and it doesnt have to drag and extra 20kg along the way
FZ6-S2 96.55 HP (70.5 kW)) 63.10 Nm (6.4 kgf-m or 46.5 ft.lbs) @ 6440 RPM SV650 72 hp (53 kW)/ 9,000 rpm, 84 Nm/ 7,200 rpm. <--- Is It really 84nm?? as the sv650 k3 is 61nm same as the curvey SV BANDIT 650 84.00 HP (62.5 kW)) @ 10100 RPM 61.5NM @ 8900 rpm does anyone know any specs of the FZ6-S1 did they remap or tweek the power delivery ? |

All 2004-2006 models have the stronger version, i.e. 97bhp (as does mine), only S2 comes in 2 variants, depending on the country they were sold in. Apparently the "weaker" version actually felt better midrange but was missing the top-end rush...
Getting rid of the catalyser on mine has definitely freed up some midrange power. You can get a link pipe for 50-60 quid on fleabay. I've never dyno'ed mine but apparently it gives you around 3-5bhp gain... I have to admit that when I rode mine today for the first time in 5 months it didn't feel underpowered at all ![]() ![]() |

whatever you find on ebay really... The cheapest new ones I think are Leovince aluminium cans I think for about £350. I have a quad-pipe Lazer extreme which is around £700 new which I got for £250 second hand. Mine will be up for grabs soon as I'll be selling my Fazer with the original one on.
