Just buy whichever bike you think looks the coolest.
Nah, buy whatever bike you think rides the best and ticks all your boxes (though fair enough if looks is your only box I suppose, but is it a bike or an ornament?), you can't see the thing when you're riding it.

"Whichever bike rides the best"

What does that even mean?

All bikes ride the same do they? No one bike better than another? Oh, well lets just get rid of all the choice and standardise on a single model.

Nope your wrong mate, there's no such thing as a better bike apparently.

Its just I have 2 mates on either camp - one owned an SV650 for a bit but recently sold, and one has something else. When I asked them why they prefer IL4/Vtwin all I got was "The IL4 sounds better (high pitched noise)" and the V-Twin "has loads of torque"

Just wondering if there was more to it, per se o.-
If the engine works - ride it. Why worry? The biggest factor affecting performance is the lump pulling the bars anyway.

Erm, can I just point out that an Inline 4 600 has the SAME low down torque as an SV650. Its an urban Myth that the twin has more. The IL4 then continues to rev on past the point where the SV starts losing power so feels like it has less. Looking at the dyno charts for a GSXR 600 SRAD and an SV650 they both make the same low down torque.

Ithangyou!

It is funny, you could predict where this thread was going to go before even opening it up.

Hello peeps, my 2 pence worth... went on a wet trackday with my SV and most of the IL4 riders were too scared to rev hard in case they spun out the back end (which a few did) so I spent a thoroughly enjoyable day overtaking quite a few of them Nice to have a fair bit of engine breaking around town (saves on the pads)!
