As the wsb riders cannot get to grips with the gp bikes, with Toseland being the good example. True motorbike circuit racing is the moto 2 40 riders going absolutly nuts

Atleast with close engines Moto2 becomes competitive, it seems that in MotoGP this year it is ride the Yamaha or finish 3rd... |

I love Moto2 for the diversity of the riders' backgrounds. They're coming from all sorts of classes and it's great to see riders like Kenny Noyes riding like a maniac in a series that would never have attracted someone like him had it remained 250 GP.
Interesting how close the times have been to WSS600 laptimes (at the relevant circuits) though. I'm sure they'll get faster, but, as some predicted, even with the full slick tyre and the weight advantage, Moto2 is not a great deal faster (if at all) than a factory WSS Honda or Yamaha was in 09. |

The Moto2's were never going to go faster then WSS bikes due to the power disadvantage, but, they do corner faster IIRC and off more of a challenge for the riders without much background and who might not have got a top 250cc bike...

Resurrecting this now the rumour mill has spun back up to speed.
http://www.motomatters.com/news/2010...s_at_duca.html Apparently Stoner's engineering team have been told that they won't have their contracts renewed. Couple that with Yamaha allegedly cutting Rossi's salary to increase Lorenzo's and it's starting to look possible that Stoner will go to Honda and Rossi to Ducati. Pedrosa will probably get tossed to a satellite team or pensioned off to Moto2/WSBK. Stoner's also becoming quite the whiny baby again: at the press conference after last week's race when asked what went wrong he just said "ask the engineers, it's not my fault". Many complain that the Moto GP grid is too small and beyond 6 bikes, really no one else can win races. However it was mentioned that BMW and Aprilia were looking to get back in to the blue riband class following the experience gained with their nhew machines in WSB. Could be total b*ll*cks though I suppose.

I think Stoner will do well at Honda he just needs a quick bike. The Ducati is still a handfull trying to chuck the rider off at every opportunity but doesn't have the speed of last year due to the softening of the engine to help other Ducati riders.

Well, it's official, Stoner's moved to Honda:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/moto...es/8804246.stm No news on whether Honda are running three bikes or if one of the other two are getting the boot. No news on Rossi either. |

I think it'll be a good move for him, even though his season this year is improving, but whos to say next year when he is at Honda he wont have the same problems in setting the bike up for himself/getting used to it?

According to Dovi's contract,if he finishes top 3 then he has a guaranteed Honda satelite bike for next season.Personally i think he will definitely get one has he reportedly has som cash rich backers.
I am surprised that the cherubic Spaniard once again decides to stay loyal to HRC,that and apparently happy to share leader status with Casey. Interesting that Ducati apparently still think a great deal of Nicky,(rider potential or USA commercial potential?) So how long before they officially unveil Vale as the new Nº1 Ducati rider? He gets on with Nicky afterthem being team mates with Honda when the American first moved over to Europe. Nicky might be happy to play the "Colin Edwards" role for the Italian. |
