Still at it!

Over a few hours at night and some time yesterday I've re-located the air intake solenoid, fitted a headlight relay with fuse holder (couldn't count on the existing loom being able to handle double the power from the twin headlights), re-located the ambient pressure sensor, fitted the relay bracket, wired up the fuse box and am now starting to wire the relays.

So nearly there as far as the wiring. Hopefully I can fire up the electrics later today although I can't start the bike as I've had to drop the coolant.

Working late at night in my garage.

Nearly there. Instead of the main loom going forward along the left of the frame I'll have a small section still there and the rest going across and in front of the airbox and toward the front. Unfortunately I cut a lot of the cables right up near the fusebox so have got several joins in one place. I'll be watching this area closely when I test it.

Don't see the problem of firing up the engine for a few mins so long as it's not more.

I would call it a mind-f***. Yesterday I had to figure out how to wire in a small auxhillary loom that Triumph fitted as a recall on early models. Did my head right in. At least I know I'll be able to use the kill switch without it frying the Ecu. Without the extra relay if the kill switch is pushed it cuts the feed to the fuel pump among other things but as the pump keeps spinning momentarily it can produce enough voltage to fry something in the bikes brain.

Pretty much everything is wired up now apart from the extra headlamp circuit and a few more connections.

Just a little update:

The wiring is complete, the engine runs, the tuneboy shows all sensors and all tests pass, the engine runs and I have done a coolant flush.

I will post some more pics and stuff soon but I am in a REAL rush to get all of the nuts and bolts done in time for the AR.

Cheers Mark! I had Mr Bear come to help me today but couldn't really give him anything to do except roll cigarettes which he excelled at. It was nice being able to show off the work I've done so far and get opinions on bits I haven't. I'm down to the fabrication stage for bits and bobs which I'll have to do at work in a secluded place. I have some sheet steel, a mock up, a scribe, a metal rule, a 67p maths set and a GRINDER! Bring it on.
