Wahey, 10 points!

I love it how rest of responses in thread have told us how illegal it is without the first idea what we're talking about

Chris, it could be my fault for not explaining it clearly enough.

I've rereade the rules a dozen times now and even reading them in the "Spirit" of the rules, I still think this is legal.

If the BMC RS filter was banned I'd fully accept that desnorkelling the standard *FILTER* (NOT airbox) would be illegal too.

I'm just saving a few quid in not having to buy an RS filter for 60 off quid.

but my MAIN reason for doing this is to be able to set a bike up without a dyno run. I simply cannot get onto a dyno *anywhere* before the first race meeting and I have info on carb set up with a desnorkled air filter. I have a good chance that *If* I desnorkle the filter I'll have jet settings that aren't going to blow the engine up on the second lap.

Having built this bike in record time from parts that were begged, borrowed or ebayed, the first time this engine is likely to run will be in the paddock the day before the race. At least with the info on a desnorkled airbox carb settings I'd have half a chance at getting on the track, and getting the jetting half way decent in the two hours "tinkering time" that Scrap Heap Challenge allow
