I have a phone and a satnav and a handheld games console and a PDA and a camera and a MP3 player and a lot of pockets to keep them in. Why would I want a single device that has all of those functions?

IPhone users please don't read this as I'm siding with you on this point but is it just me or is the alphanumeric keypad on the desire ****?

It never get's the words right and is slow. Qwerty is fine on the other hand. And pretty much everything else is brilliant!

I don't think iPhone has alpha numeric but not sure.

Chap at work has the HTC, he is raving about it and loves it. I am however not impressed with it, it looks nice, I'm sure the interface is great I used it a couple of times and didnt like it compared to my iphone.

Another mate has an iphone4 and I dont like that either. It doesnt look as sleek as the iphone 3G or 3gs, it looks boxy and bulky. I dont think its that big an upgrade over what I already have ( iphone 3g ) and I got my handset for nowt and I'm b*ggered if I am spending upgrading something that I find perfectly adequate for my needs.

I think you need to go into the shop and hold and use the phones in order to make a comparision.

I bought Sophie a iPhone for her 12th birthday. I went into one shop and said I wanted an iPhone, the idiot 'sales' bloke said 'Why', pointed to the HTC and said 'this is much better'. It might well be, I don't know and don't care, but the bloke has yet to learn about 12 year olds and branding.

Well I'm getting a free iPhone 3gs from work (won a competition) in a fortnight so I might be swapping my loyalties to the enemy camp. And I will have a nearly new desire for sale too. X
