Sidi Black Rains are comfy (as mentioned above) and i've had two sets. Just remember the Sidi range is tight so try at least a half or full size up from normal.
I now use Arlen Ness 1064 boots and they are a great fit and fine all day. |

I got fed up with cheap boots, so I went looking for some Daytona's and found some in HG. I thnk there made for HG by daytona about £279 but really comfy and great feel. Soles are very grippy for paddling about in and so far 100% waterproof. I haven't bothered to take another pair of shoes wth me if touring as I find them very comfortable to walk in.

I haven't a clue yet and don't care, I just told my friend Graham to send them back and give me the bill when they return. I'm having quite a bit done, as in new soles, new Goretex, and some repairs to the uppers as they are quite old and done lots of miles, but it'll always be cheaper than buying a new pair at £340.

I have Alpinestars SMX-4's, had them a couple of years now and have never had any bother with sore feet. Walked around in them all weekend for 3 full weekends when watchin MotoGP and WSB at Donnington and Silverstone and walkin right round Donnington a few times in one weekend. The only discomfort is with rubbing on my calfs at the top of the boots, but I tend not to loosen them when I get off the bike (Don't know why I don't!?) Soles are still in great condition too.

If you want top quality road boots that will last a good while, are waterproof and pretty tough, try the Evo Sports GTX - horses for courses etc.... http://www.glfaccessories.com/index....d&productId=86 |

I've just got them back and they are bloody excellent. The rebuild cost me £180, but for that I got new soles, new goretex linings, new inner liner in the tongue, new reflective patches in the rear of each boot and the uppers have been fully refurbished and polished back to almost like new. All the zips were excellent (YKK from new) so didn't need touching. They feel like new boots, but with that 'familiar worn in' feeling that comes from owning and using something for many years - it's weird but good

Not far off a new pair of boots then by the sound of it - for about a third of their original cost, that's not too bad at all really.
I must say, having spent way over what I'd originally planned to on my Evo Sports, now they're broken in I'm so glad I did - side by side with my Alpinestars (SMX4) and the difference in quality is chalk and cheese. I actually really liked my A*'s too until I got these, but the protection, comfort and build quality on the Daytona's is miles better. Thanks for the repost Loz |

I don't regret owning them or getting them rebuilt. |
