The brakes tend to feel a little"Down" but believe me don't grab a handful unless its an ABS. Suspension at that mileage and age probably has never been touched so fresh oil wouldn't go amiss.DB screen?I have a touring screen and you could have tea and cake behind it going along. The SV has a very slick gear change and most other bike feel stiff in comparison but the Triumph frees off abit after 30K miles
The reason I still have my 955i and its the older 108bhp model is that I can't find anything as comfortable for me 6ft 2inches and similar weight to yourself. |

steveg, is that the 05 model you test rode, from 07 the bars are a bit higher and a higher screen, not a lot though and from 08 metal tank. Recon you got all the valid points from your test, now buy one lol. ps That one looks like my old oil burner

Hi
I rode a 06 which I think has the same handle bar set up as 05 Looking at riding a later model with higher bars to compare , but tbh this model was really comfy , did need a higher screen though Going to test ride a few more when I can get the time ![]() Cheers Steveg

Steveg,The 1050 leans towards the "Sport" riding position where as the older 955 more "Touring" position, which I find more comfortable for me,it depends what you want the bike for.Neither are uncomfortable its just what I have become used too and I mentioned the brakes before but I think a better description of the feel is "Progressive".
I don't know if you intend carrying a pillion but if you are, consider the exhaust position i.e. under seat or side slung In the end it is what you want and what you find best for your needs, I'm only trying to point out the subtle differences between the two models not influence your decision Last edited by Dicky Ticker; 01-11-10 at 09:29 AM. |

Steve , pure triumph in brum are always more than happy for you to take a bike out if you wanna take a newer sprint out to compare.
I test rode both the sprint and tiger on full day tests on each bike, If you have the time, take one for at least half a day. |

I haven't ridden one and a slight derail but has anybody ridden the new GT Sprint?
IMO it is the cross over between the older and newer Sprints, touring orientated, with a few more extras but as it is new model, still a bit out of my price range. |

Why I still have my old one
![]() In truth I just can't see the benefit of parting with my bike and £5500 to own one when what I have does exactly the same but more comfortable,--------plus being tight ![]() Last edited by Dicky Ticker; 03-11-10 at 10:20 AM. |
