The stamp will cost you more

And when they bend and won't stand upright, what do you consider the recipients will think of you? 'Why did he waste the stamp...'

I voted Ebenezer. Not because I don't like christmas, I love christmas. I just think cards are pointless

See that's one of the things I hate about it all 'social acceptability', not sending a card, or not sending one of sufficient quality is frowned upon and judged by other people, whereas Singo's mates and relatives should be happy that he thought about them and took the time to write and post the card. If they asked me, why did he waste the stamp? My reply would be, "Cos he wanted to say Merry Christmas to you. You ungrateful tit!"

Personally I think about and take the time to phone the people that matter to me on xmas day, or in the days before or after and actually speak to them. That I think is a much better quality of communication than "Merry Christmas" in a card.

...and I would agree with you...

Well respect to the number of people being honest and clicking the Ebenezer option, rather than clicking the charity option 'cos it's politically correct, then not actually making the charitable donation equivalent to what they would have spent in cards.

If I get one I'll send one in return.

We get cards from the family in Germany, which are more like letters, so these I like to get.

Except for one which always arrives from my wife's cousin. She usually writes 4 sides of A4 (in German!) on how great her life has been in the year just gone. Every year without fail. My wife doesn't bother to read it and throws it in the bin!

Otherwise I send ecards to friends overseas

I do also take the opportunity to add a little paragraph or two of what we've been up to etc during the past year.
