Hi and welcome. What ever you can think of, someone will have done it. It's a never ending list.

Well, took the SV out for a good blast a few day's ago and think its great. I liked it so much in fact I've gone and booked a track day for the 21st March at Snetterton.

Anything in specific I should check before I give her the beans?
What PSI should I use in my 020's?

I recently acquired an SV650 which is a bit on the rough side. It needs a bloody good clean, degrease and a bit of TLC in places but other than that It's a good runner with tax and test. It was restricted but thanks to a guide on here I sorted that today. Plans are to continue cleaning her up then see where we go from there! Here's a few pics.

Before

Can't be that badly done to as a commuter, look at that water pump cover, even with the most looked after SVs in the world(ie mine) its extremely hard to keep those from peeling...besides, that downpipe only needed a quick polish, it wasn't brown enough

Hello BTW...welcome to the shinydownpipeclub

The suspension one is done to death have a search, but they're front end uprating (better springs through to cartridge conversions), front end swaps (to gsxr, but is coming pricey as parts are becoming scarce) , rear shock swaps or aftermarkets (from Ohlins, Penske etc..)

Had the front end out too, wheel and discs needed a good cleaning so I got right on that with some brake cleaner and some mild acidic wheel cleaner. Re-greased the spindle and bearings too.

Encountered my first problem today. Was cruising at 70mph when the bike totally miss-fired (felt like a fuelling issue). I immediately pulled the clutch in and puts the anchors on. Got off the bike, inspected to see if she was ****ing fluids but nothing. Revved her and a nice flame came out. Pulled away and she was fine after that. Any ideas?

I'm thinking carb icing?
