I'm liking that logic too! I have just realised how much my thighs are going to ache tomorroe after my gravity and mental horse defying stickablilty in the saddle today. OUCH...
...but less of an out than biting the dust! |

Hahaha. I daren't gallop Fly yet. She's not called Flyer by chance...lol. She only knows how to win really bless her and because she was a hurdler, I do not have the option of turning her to a hedge if I can't stop her...lol. I really am amazed I stuck it all. The point at which I was a over a foot off the saddle I remember well. I was about to be dumped off to the front nearside. I pinned my right leg on and took almost all my weight on my arms which were braced against her neck lol. She had a proper head fit. I'll be cantering in the school first, then the field, then I'll introduce it on hacks but only when I have a pelham for her. She's not strong at all and I'll probably only need it once, but if she wants to break to gallop, I want something a bit more than a french link...lol

Schooled the horse this morning and got my wheelchair ready now...hot bath first so I can make it to the wheelchair.
Why dont you two pop round on yours and we can have races lol! MBK, gym..urgh! At least riding is a much more fun way of ending up too stiff to walk...oi oi missus *waits for smutty comments to ensue!!!! I know what you mean about Flyer, Tris's Mum had a horse, Ryan, I think you met him when you came up. He used to be the same, when he went there was no stopping him, he bolted with me a few times but fortunately I had the space to let him run it off, now he and Paddy are running in heaven together bless!! |

I remember Ryan Jen. He was a stunner. My main concern with Flyer is that she's one of those that when she gets frustrated, she's a twister and spinner on top of being very light at the front and as we found out yesterday, she really can buck to go with that rearing ability...lol. Combine a rear-buck combination with headshaking, body twisting and ending with a spin and it's pretty hard work sitting to it all...lol.
It was pure confusion though, not malice. She just doesn't understand being still when another horse goes off like that. She's been brainwashed to chase and overtake bless her. Luckily, I'd let anyone ride her in the field as she's a real sweetheart and anyone that's ridden a few times could rider her on a hack that was just walk or walk and trot as she's very sensible in normal circumstances...suprisingly so for an OTTB. As for the wheelchair...mine got left last night...I just went to bed instead...lol. x |
