thats pants m8. better luck next time.

if it were me i would have gave you plus points for keeping the bike upright.

so if an examiner tells you to go a certain route and that route is dangerous (because of a hazard). how does that work, can you get off the bike and have a chat about it or what?

The examiner cant do anything if you take a different route to what they tell you to if you do everything correctly and safetly

I meant if you arent. I see what you are saying nw though, if you are in a lane and there is a danger, where do you stand if you have to change direction to avoid it?

Am pretty sure that so long as you realise there is a danger and take appropriate action, then you're fine - whether that is riding around the problem, changing direction, or pulling over safely to check with the examiner. If something totally unexpected happens then it may be unlucky, but you are still expected to cope with it.

My actual fail wasn't a control issue, it was for awareness - I should have spotted the gravel, and if I had done so in time I'd have either avoided it or gone through it with the bike more upright.

Am back to waiting for a date. Training school is trying to get some more, or might get if someone cancels.

****!

Did Mod 2 again today. Beautiful day for it. Felt really comfortable with everything, was aware I had made a couple of mistakes but was pretty sure they were minor.

Two mins from the end of the test I'm coming up to a set of lights which change green to amber, and the total muppet idiot voice in my head goes, 'Whatever you do, don't run a red light.'. So I brake, stop just over into the cyclist bit, then hear the car behind me lock up.
