Open your vents, and if it's really bad open the visor that little crack to let some air in. I see lots going around with it fully open all the time... if a piece of debris from a knackered road surface gives a chip or dent on your car imagine what it will do to your eye!
If your visor fogs up inside (especially in the rain) then invest in some antifog spray. I got some Bob Heath stuff and it's worked well all through winter. Besides, everyone knows the biggest problem is getting an itchy nose ![]() Last edited by metalangel; 21-03-11 at 06:31 AM. |

Wear bigger pants and loosen your trousers
![]() On a serious note I wear clear cycling glasses to protect my eyes which allow me to ride visor up. I bought some from deacathlon for 6 quid i think. They sort of wrap around and stop the wind.

Why would You want to ride around with your visor open? If I'm around town etc I'll have it open a wee bit other than that it's always closed when I'm riding

I like having my visor closed and no one being able to see who I am.
I understand you say it makes you feel 'free', but what makes me feel free is the tipping sensation into corners ![]() |

My eyes start watering about 30 mph in the winter. Wrap around shades do help, and you could probably get a pair of wrap around safety glasses fairly cheaply. Though I don't think regular safety glasses meet the legal requirements for motorcycle use.
Personally, I prefer to keep my visor down when I'm doing more than 20mph. I've seen how many bugs get splattered on it, and don't fancy that lot in my eyes. Then there's the cars that cover me in screen wash when they try to wash the bugs off. That stuff really hurts if it gets in your eyes. Fortunately, we're just in that nice period when the roads have dried out, but the bugs haven't really got going. But it won't last. Summer is coming (I hope), Keith. |

My eyes water like a b'stard at the slightest breeze, I can't even wear shades with my helmet on as they instantly fog up due to all the water. I think it might be down to wearing contact lenses, anyone else suffer from this?

Well part of it is also that I'm guilty of the fact that perhaps my visors a bit too dirty.
How do people clean their visors? |

Warm soapy water and a nice paper towel on the inside and out.
