Did a silly thing this morning - ran out of petrol whilst overtaking a car! 90.2 miles showing on the trip - doh!! Silly woman slowed down with me too as I was on the wrong side of the road!! No harm done - onto reserve and few presses of the magic button and we were off again - now I am wondering how far I can go on reserve...!
Adjusted fuel mixture screw for extra fuel in the fuel/ air mix, done the trick anyway

I have run out of fuel on the mway in the fast lane, reaching down trying to get it on the reserve is fun
They only ever run out when it's the least convenient time, normally overtaking.

hey reaching for reserve when you're overtaking and have an extra large fuel tank fitted (which covers most of the reserve knob) is even more fun!

Glad you're enjoying the bike Skip, I also love mine to bits. And get a yoshi exhaust if you can, they look and sound AWESOME

Kwak, you're in the same predicament as I am - I have to sell one of the Gixxer or DRZ this year, and much as I love the Gixxer it will probably be the DRZ that stays. It's just as fun (though different), will do the commute, and is cheap to run. If you're considering one or the other, it's worth saying that the DRZ is not really a long distance bike, and rideouts with faster bikes will be a bit trickier - tho for me baby Jacob means that visits to my parents now = car, and there isn't exactly much time for rideouts! (well not until he fits on the back of the bike anyway )

I am determined to attend my mates usual rideouts on it - I told them as long as I know where they are going I will just meet them there! Probably end up surprising me and them though I think

Did my first tiny bit of green-laning last night - its literally a 1 minute ride from my house - but very very easy - could probably have ridden the SV down it lol

Oh and I filled it up last night - £10.50!! That was with V-Power too (just because!) - love it

+1 similar to what Im getting,
I've filled up twice now with around 80miles travelled and its cost me less than £8 to fill it using the premium stuff, means its costing me roughly £3 to get to work and back each day... cheaper than the bus!

EDIT: ROFL!! just did a quick bit of maths and with the insurance and tax for the year working out as £1.60/day (based on riding 5 days everyweek of the year) That means its costing me £4.60 per day in travel. THATS STILL CHEAPER THAN THE BUS! (In fairness I would need to catch 3 busses to get to within a 10min walk of work, 4 busses if I want to get to the bus stop 30yards away. But still thats petty great

My commute is a 16 mile round trip if I take the back roads (which obviously I am now!) so thats about £2 a day for me Not worth getting sweaty on the push-bike for that!

I've actually had 120 miles out of mine inc reserve
I average about 90 miles before reserve, I've never been able to fit in a tenner either

Get about the same 90ish to reserve. Costs about £8.50 - £9 to fill back up.
