Right folks there seems to be an undercurrent of rebellion here it’s my own fault I asked people opinions. Now I'm no African Dictator but you’re welcome to come to my place for an evening meal and we can discuss some changes to things.

Seriously I’m willing to change the route to add in the A702 but it makes the ride a monster at nearly 230 miles.

One idea is promise to put the Dalveen Pass into a ride later in the year. Probably the same run as the one at the end of last year!

Other option shorten the run by starting the ride in Whitburn and end it back there and keep the extra loop in?

What do you all think and how do I post google map thingys on the forum? it would make this whole thing so much easier!!!

I wouldn't bother. Your planning it so you decide the route. Unfortunately it would appear that divide and conquer is more preferable than the harmony of the group on this website these days.

I've added a map of the original route in the first message.

Willing to change it for payment...

Sorry Deano, I was only trying to help with suggestions - as someone else said, your rideout = your route!

Anyone that doesn't like it can simply either not go or arrange their own route (that's meant in the nicest possible way - but it's a fairly simple solution! ) )

Cheers
JM

I think when you say things like "the provisional route is..." you leave yourself open to people offering [?better] alternatives. If you dont like it then dont say "provisional" say "the route is..."

I dont think anyone is trying to "divide the group" it doesnt hurt to put ideas out there, so long as something is decided before the day.

This stupid talk stops right now, you gotta realise that when I’m asking you round for tea like Idi Amin I’m not being serious…

I’m chuffed people are asking for different roads it’s what forums are for this isn’t my ride out its ours I’m merely instigating the whole thing.

I’m more than happy to start and end the ride in Whitburn and do the Dalveen Loop if that’s what we think is best, I just worry about the mileages some people will have to do over the whole day.

I’m also more than happy to wait for a ride out later in the year to fit in some of the roads. I’m easy and don’t you know it!!!

the other option is I start a new thread giving different routes and we vote on which one we talk. The lovely mod's could lock of delete this one so we can start fresh
