Mike - No problem. Where are you coming from?

All - I'll plan for petrol/pee stops between 100 and 120 miles apart.
I live in Hackney but I'll be traveling from Manor House so Nth London which makes it even easier to get to the Ace. Just out of curiosity, what's the planned route and ETA at campsite? Not that I'm much bothered but I'd like to know. Oh and I'm gonna ride two up so I hope its not a problem. I wouldn't like to slow anyone down.

Cheers.
Mike.

It sounds like the Ace isn't too good for most of us.

Would anyone have a problem with meeting at the BP petrol station on the A40 by the junction with the A412, here:

I realise that means no greasy bacon butties from the Ace, but for the people coming from the remote parts it's just off the M25, and for those of us coming from London it's on our route anyway.

Mike - two up is fine. This is planned to be a leisurely ride not an all out blat.

All - the route plan is

Denham: A413 -> Towcester
M1 -> Junction 25
Pub Lunch, probably in Ockbrook
Derby -> Matlock -> Chatsworth -> Snake Pass -> Woodhead Reservoir -> Holmfirth
Crappy bit through Huddersfield. (sorry, I couldn't find a decent way around it)
Hebden Bridge -> Keighley -> Skipton -> AR11

Around 300 miles which means around 6 hours in the saddle and at least two hours of stops. If we leave around 9.30 we'll be at the site well before it gets dark.

much as the Hebden bit is ok....its a bit of a jump from Holmfirth/Hudds to the doolally valley, and would possibly be easier to knock that bit on the head and head thru Halifax....to keighley
Saving a few miles there.

Its not as if i live ere or owt

Lou - thanks for keeping an eye on things. I did look at going through Huddersfield and Halifax but didn't really fancy it much. However, I'll keep it in mind if we've had enough and need to save a few miles/minutes.

Tony - you're quite right. I'm one junction too far west on the A40. Thanks.

All - with Tony's correction are we all happy to get to the petrol station around 9.30 for a ten o'clock departure? That'll work about the same as a nine-thirty departure from the Ace.

I'll print off some instructions too. So if anyone feels the need for speed you will know where to find us.

Keith.

Dammit, poo and blast! I was convinced for months that I was working AR weekend...have now realised it's next weekend and I'm on leave.

Meh, too late now for me to get myself organised...next year then (mind, I say that every year )...
