heard his lawyer on the radio the other day and he was saying that the loon thinks that he's in a war and he thought that it was OK to kill people under war circumstances... WTF?!?!
the guy deserves to be locked up in a less padded cell for life, at least! eamon holmes said on sky news the otherday, surely the police could have found an excuse to shoot him on site... lol |

You know, this is not the first guy from Norway that goes mad. I don't know how many of you have heard of Mayhem and Burzum. They have in common one man, Varg Vikernes, who was a band member of Mayhem and the founder of Burzum (entirely his own project).
This man went to jail for the brutal murder of the guitarist of Mayhem, in '93. Upon his arrest, there were some 150kg of explosive found in his apartment, with which he planned to blow up Blitz House, the radical leftist and anarchist enclave in Oslo. He was trialed in '94 and found guilty of murder and the arson of 4 churches (which at the time of the arson were supposedly full of people - but I'm not sure of this, its only hearsay). He was sentenced to 21 years because that is the maximum in Norway. BUT don't think it's that much of a hard time. From what I understand, whilst in prison, he has had access to almost all amenities: food & shelter, internet, synthesizers (with which to continue his musical projects) and so on. This was the case in the past for a man who obviously had issues and acted violently. Furthermore, he supported the concepts with propaganda whilst in prison. The only difference between this guy and the guy in question is that one was stopped in time whilst the other one wasn't. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Varg_Vi...Lords_of_Chaos There is obviously the need to isolate them from society, but they are exponents of an ideology relying heavily on separatism and discrimination. These guys are the product of their own society. We talk about killing them, but these guys are proof of the educational faults that the system they come from bares. So surely you can use them to direct your anger at and to shout at, but they are products of modern society. It's easy to argue that they should be punished. But shouldn't the social foundations be put to question as well? Last edited by andreis; 28-07-11 at 10:25 AM. |
