I ok just ordered some petrol resistaan paint so will have a go myself hopefuly it will look alrite thanks for the help

if the paint is not down to the undercoat then you don't need paint. you need lacquer. the paint is good and sound. a rub with 1200 and then cutting it with G3 should have sorted the problem. this is probably what your £130 would have entailed, if it looked a bit ropey then they would have given it a quick once over with lacquer then cut it back so it was flat.
