Take a wee guess at what the mileage is it. A wee clue is that it's pretty high!!
Probably needs new fork-oil suited to your weight - as opposed to either of the previous owners, maybe even a change of fork springs - I cured the knock on my pointy with a set of Hyperpro Progressive springs - its only about £100 to do.

I was so glad to see it go to such a good home - he even drove through the night all the way from Edinburgh to Surrey and back to pick it up!

Hmmm, mileage....well I think it was high 30Ks when I last had it, so maybe high 40Ks? Just goes to show they can go on forever when they are well looked after!

It didn't knock at the front end in the 4 years that I owned it, though I have come across several SVs that do, so it seems like a common fault that develops. I'm guessing there will be a few threads on this forum about it anyway!

The fork oil and springs were previously set up for me (c. 9 1/2 stone) by a suspension specialist. IIRC we decided against progressive springs, but they were good quality upgrades. Not sure whether Kev has done anything with the front end but SK's suggestion is a good one as it's probably due a refresh of springs/oil if it hasn't been changed in a few years!

Enjoy, and welcome to the forum!
