sorry to hear about the points webber. I have just had my first two years of riding pass and restriction lifted, and the one thing i was lucky not to get was any points even after being pulled over with no number plate showing on my bike, (due to it falling off, at the time had the bike with lowering kit on and must have caught the plate, and had gf on back).

hope you get it all sorted soon

First time, does the road not have 50mph repeater signs after you missed the speed limit signs at the beginning?
Second,How come your mate made off,was he speeding as well and you were trying to catch up at the back and got stopped because you were last? Police see one bike speeding past and start to pull out and then a second bike speeds past they are going to pull the last bike.

SK's comment sounds spot on for London. You can pretty much ignore speed limits here, so long as you slow down for cameras.

regarding the restriction not coming back, i was pulled and luckily managed to get away with a bit of an **** chewing from the copper. he did a check and it came back saying i should be restricted to 25KW and i had to produce the restriction cert along with licence and insurance, mot etc.

Mainly, in my experience, as long as you can spot a Yellow Box on a Pole, the actual chances of seeing a Police Office are so slim as to be next to not needing to worry about it.

Just my bad luck then I guess....?

There's been plenty of Traffic Cops about in Suffolk recently, including 3 marked cars out on a Sunday pulling folk over, some of it is the Christmas drink drive campaign, but defo more of them about.

Even saw the scamera van the other day in its new Police colours

+1 Rush hour is usually a free-for-all. I can't remember the last time I saw a cop car on my commute in from Twickenham.....seems as though they know the main routes are usually snarled up so don't bother policing them. The only place you need to watch going west from the center is outside Buckingham Palace, that's it.

Loves it

If the main urban centres such as London, Birmingham & Manchester are making massive cuts, where the hell are Suffolk getting the money from?

I drive 40,000 odd miles a year if you include bike miles, all over the country, and I agree with Soulkiss 100%. Especially on the motorways, there are no speed limits, because they are not enforced. A constant stream of large executive cars in lane 3 at 100 mph are not unusual at all during the day.

Other that the likes of the North Circular which is littered in speed cameras, London is indeed a free for all. 50 mph in a 30 limit is not at all unusual when the traffic allows it.

First time it was gone mid night and was on my way home from a ride, perhaps not paying attention to my speed as having no cars around i didn't notice myself going faster then anyone else. Just unlucky that one.

I was about 20ft behind my mate when the blues came on, we both started to slow down to stop then he booted and and left me. To be fair i would of done the same if i was in front but there you go eh.

Just bad luck that i was at the back! Just annoying as im not having to re-apply for my provisional and all the rest.

However on the bright side, i'm saving myself a ton in car insurance as well as fuel for the both. Around 400 a month! However this will be turned around when i go to get re-insured with 6points
