As you see it I have around £850 -£900 in it including the case, silencer etc. Suffice to say Mrs. Noddy wasn't overly chuffed when she came home from work and saw it. I was hoping she wouldn't notice but I was wrong. It is a November 2010 model.

No, sub 12ft/lb. If over 12ft/lb section 1 FAC. Mine is the former so no licence required.

Yes Josh, FAC=Firearms certificate, it's only applicable if the rifle is over the UK 12ft/lb muzzle energy legal limit.

If you've never shot at live quarry before then no. You need to be able to consistently place all your shots within a 5p piece at around 30 yards before I would consider it. Best get some serious practice in then get a suitable gun. It's unlikely any chinese rifle would have the consistency or accuracy to cleanly dispatch your chosen quarry unless it's had lots of work done to it. Ultimately shooting is down to respect for your chosen quarry species, no responsible shooter would want the animal to suffer. Sorry if this sounds pompous but we always aim (please excuse the pun) for a clean clinical kill.
As for scopes, there are plenty around. it depends on the depth of your pockets. Chinese springers tend to be a bit harsh and have a nasty habit of destroying scopes. Last edited by Noddy; 10-04-12 at 09:41 PM. |
