Basically a plastic clip that goes around the throttle and you can rest your wrist on it.

speaking of hand swapping, I've tried it on the clutch before. Motorway, unfamiliar bike, big v-twin honda cruiser with potloads of engine braking, runs out of fuel.

Trying to find the fuel tap to switch to reserve with the clutch in so I didn't come to a complete standstill is an exercise in dexterity. Seriously who designs these things?

Fortunately you can practically climb off that bike and it still goes in a straight line.

What you people need is NOT a palm throttle thingy. That just makes you accelerate when you don't think about it... What you need is something like this: http://www.kaoko.com/

It can lock the throttle by friction (but it isn't strong enough to prevent you from closing the throttle in an emergency) and it's very easy to operate. Only downside is, it's a bit pricy.. Every now and then one pops up on ebay or some forum for about 30-40quid, but I never caught one.

Partly agree with you andreis. The crampbuster took a bit of adjusting and getting used to and there was a few "Woah!" moments going around slow roundabouts. BUT, once it's adjust correctly it works very well. I even tested this out but using it to get to work which involves a lot of filtering and had no issues.
Of course, this is just my opinion though

converted it would be about £60 .. Going to SA soon... anybody want me to get them one while i'm there??

Took my sister out on the bike yesterday and on getting back after about 40 miles she asked why i kept flapping my right arm/hand... one day when she starts riding her own bike and not on the back of mine she'll GEDDIT

Try some Grip Puppies from www.sportouring.com
I had them on the GS12's. Big mileage/long days/no pain.

I don't think pipe lagging would be quite the same. The G.P's are about 2mm thick and made from neoprene. As I said above, I've done big mileage with them fitted to the BM's and I'd recommend them to anyone. As for the price, you know what they say;

If good, no cheap.
If cheap, no good.

ps. Don't bother with a throttle-rocker thingy, I've tried them on the Harleys. It's far too easy to accidentally wind the throttle on while trying to apply front brake. Not safe.
