I'd put cave diving as much more lunatic than rock climbing...

That pick and the comments here causes me to have some genuine LOLs. I suppose it depends on the tone and self awareness in which it was done. Imagine if one of us did it to their SV for a joke just for one of the ARs and turned it back to stock afterwards? I think most people would think it was a hoot.

I recently lashed a Sheeps skull (which I found whilst trail riding) to the 'beak' of my GS. It was a bit of a mickey take on people putting skulls on their bike to look threatening. I suppose you could view this pic as the same thing; misappropriating some other aspect of motorcycle culture and putting it on an inappropriate bike.

That all said, I'll go for 10:1 odds it's an American gentleman who believes that this looks awesome.

If they try to ride that thing at speed, then they probably will never touch another motorcycle again, as long (or more likely, as short) as they live.

The words 'terminally stupid' spring to mind.

Motorcycling is undeniably dangerous, but people still seem to place it in a special class of recklessness (probably because of the lingering perception of us as all a bunch of HAs), whereas they're generally prepared to shrug off accidents in other areas of life as "just one of those things".
