Do I need to start thinking of getting another water pump?

eh? A screw blocking the outlet hose? Are you mistaking it for the coolant drain plug?

if the outlet was blocked, then the coolant wouldn't circulate round the system.

if the bearing are shot, then the seals would be shot too, i cant remember if the pump has a telltale hole. I suspect it doesnt, and thats why its leaking coolant into the crankcase.

You may as well stick another pump on it or just rebuild yours, no real difference.

Nothing you can do for the engine other than change the oil, run it for a while then change it again to get any residual water out. Maybe when you put the first oil in, crank it with the spark plugs removed to get oil circulating first (until oil light goes out).

If it goes bang it will go bang, probably big ends. Nothing you can do about it now though just see how you go on.

I think you should prepare for this eventuality by videoing it

Nothing that spectacular to be honest, generally fine then "knockknockknockknock" "wtf's that" followed by emptying the brass sludge out with the oil that used to be bearing shells.
