Dunno about instructions, I don't rate racetech ones. Won't pay £150 for a £15 part.

Anyway, my thinking is thin oil = good. The thinner oil you can use the better the viscosity index.

On this basis, I drill comp holes bigger and weld up rebound hole.

Drilling extra holes as per racetech instruction is and was always a load of crap. Apparently those instructions were written before the SV existed.

On note of springs... every fork on an SV is progressive because they have air inside. Progressive springs just mean you blow through all your travel immediately and have none left to actually do much suspending because the top is so soggy. Horrible things.

But they are horrible things which feel better than the standard biro springs so everyone thinks they're great when they've fitted some

Okay thanks for the words of advice guys, if i were to go down the route of emulators with linear springs is anyone able to tell me where i can find a good deal on them (idealy not imported from the US) and who to get springs from and what number spring i need to be looking at for my weight and intended riding style as i want to compare the cost against the hyperpro program spring kit??

Much Thanks

0.8 springs, 10w oil.
Just import them from states, it's easiest way.

I do all mods if people want to bring me bike or even post me their forks, or do modded damper rods on exchange basis... whatever

Can vouch for this as a very happy customer. Forks sent in post, returned and back on the bike inside seven days. K-tech linear springs, new oil, debrix emulators & damper rod modifications all done by YC. Good price IMHO & great service, Top stuff.

*chris, you can sort out my fee for this later

YC sorry if this is a bit of a basic question but with regards to linear springs why switch to a 10w oil, im new to the in-depth working knowledge of suspension. would 8.5 springs be okay as they seem to be the lowest k tech have?

Thanks Craig

I use the K-Tech 8.5 springs and a good 10W oil (see my signature) weigh 11 Stone as well and it's pretty much perfect, rather than oil weight look at the oil viscosity index and choose your oil - there is a table around of index vs oil makes. Generally set compression damping by emulators and rebound by viscosity, but again the oil I use seems ideal on my setup.
I bought my Debrix emulators direct from the states and it was v easy and took about 2 weeks. There was someone selling them on Ebay but can't find at the moment.
