Get a bike you can hack around snetterton, that'll satisfy your lust for speed.

The thought had crossed my mind, an old GSXR/ZXR 750 would do the job nicely

It would be nice to have something to not worry about for the winter months though, something that can be dropped and wont break, a smallish dual sport...

I'll worry about my SMT mods for now and lull over the options

Yes, but an SV is loads of fun round there, but anything that you don't have to worry about chucking down the road is worth getting CBR600, Zx6, GSXR600

Yeah, any of the 600/750 sport models would do for a track bike and winter hack I guess....isn't the zx6 636 model a goodun?

Well I had a great day demo riding the Victory Hammer S, 120 miles around March/Outwell/Mildenhall/Lakenheath/Thetford etc

A couple of pics:

And a vid walking round the bike:
YouTube Video
Error: If you cannot see this video, then either YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed to play it.

List of pros and cons:

+ Finish & Quality
+ Overdrive 6th Gear = 75mph @ 2500rpm
+ Uber Torque pulls from anywhere
+ No chain oil anywhere
+ The Sound Is Frigging Awesome
+ MPG is really good, 180mile tank range with 50mpg easily achievable
+ Massssssive rear tyre, handling was surprisingly okay, the bike needed more input but it was quite a nice thing having to tell it what to do more.
+ I was leaning fairly hard over in places and didn't ground out, but I wasn't doing a Rossi, maybe after a longer time on it grounding would be inevitable but better than I thought it would be

- Poor Acceleration for the size of bike so overtakes need more planning than before, I am gauging it against an SMT though
- Tail bone is a bit sore after 2hrs, the front pegs need to be brought in which is possible, they're too far forward so nothing to brace against when hitting the throttle hard
- Massssssive rear tyre, did make cornering more effort and the bike understeered on exit but all this is just something to get used to...when cornering you just need to push the lean longer and after you start accelerating out, didn't take long to get the feel for it.

The pegs can be moved, either via an additional bracket system @ £120 or by swapping out the whole peg/lever assembly with a Victory Judge equivalent at a cost of £160 (difference between old and new)...the later brings the peg level with the sump which would mean much more comfort I think and the ability to brace onto something.

Trade in offered wasn't great @ £6K for my SMT but on the flip side free stage 1 matt black exhaust system and 2 yrs (up to 7500miles) free servicing on a unregistered 2010 bike for a lower than RRP price

I WILL get a cruiser much like this but I think it will wait for 2 years, get an older S/H one and then I'll keep my SMT too I do like the idea of getting the wife on the back and going for weekend rides on one...

Anyone who hasn't ridden one ought to, it's an experience and has quite an appeal even without the ar$eless chaps and cowboy hat

The hammer s looks beautuful! Most of the Victory range looks stunning.

I'd have one as a second bike if i could but as the and only.

Left if private instead of listed, fixed now, although it's not much of a video
