The Scene

I was in the slip lane about here on the road already off the throttle as the cars always slow for the lights just over the crest. The Red golf in front of me lightly brakes so I lightly touch the brakes and bingo the bike go's down on its right hand side and I'm getting wet as I slide along the tarmac.

What scares me the most is how I calm I was bar the self deprecating expletives I was giving myself as I slid along. I had time to think hmm maybe I should lift my feet up as I might end up going underneath the golf, but its not going much slower than I am so it'll be fine.

The bike and I ended up in the hard shoulder with the bike pointing against the flow of traffic, thankfully it was fairly quiet as it was early.

I picked the bike up turned it and talked to the guy in golf. He seemed way more panicked than I was... The tank bag had fallen off so I had to go back up the road and get it, but I did notice that there was a lovely rainbow hue to the road (dunno if that was from the bike or was already there)
TBH all I wanted to do was get the bike off the motorway and down to work so I could check it...

Pushed the bike round to my work and swore some more and decided it was now time for a smoke...

I now have the quote back from Triumph Edinburgh and all I can say is aren't motorbike parts expensive... Full quote is not far short of £3,000

£589.87 for the tank
£475.91 for the Radiator.
£139.82 for a bit of plastic about 18" long and 5" deep..

Big thanks go out to the good guy in the white Merc Van that stopped for me, just to make sure I was ok as I was pushing the bike down the side of the road.

What I don't get is the bike went down on its right hand side but the left rear plastics are smashed to bits?? Just doesn't compute, really don't get it!

Already looking at new bikes as I think she's gonna get written off.

Just the stabilising wheels please Adam, I don't want to deprive my little sister of her bike...

Won't be long till she's out there without the wheels and then we'll really see you run
