I love my little SV. Lots of fun, great V-Twin sound. What more could you ask...

I know it's all about opions but whf is 'It's best to get people to tell you what to ride rather than taking a test ride'... Freak. I'm not a sheep I ride something cause I like it, not because I'm told to ride it...

Your right, it's one guy and we shouldn't care what everyone else thinks. We here at SV650.org love the SV! But what gets me is that he did post on this board and the way he said it. It's one thing to point out the negative but to do it in such an ignorant way and on a site that loves that bike...

i have had a fair thew bikes seeing i am only 22. 250n superdream, gpz 500, 600 bandit, 1200 bantit, zx6r, 1000 thunderace but out of all these bikes i felt more at home and at ease with the sv. it has got a little bit of everything. torque, looks, sounds nice, good fuel econamy, handles well. what more can you ask for. i just wished i had saved myself some money and brought one in the first place. how any one could dis such a cracking little bike is beyond me. enjoy your sv's. jamie

Before i bought an sv i had seent them at granbys in ilkeston and i liked the look of them granted i was looking at an sv 03 model and i have an 02

but before i bought one i asked a few blokes there opinion of them and i found a guy who had an sv as well as a hornet and a new z1000 he`d had the sv for over a year and got the hornet to replace it and was selling the hornet

Why sell the hornet i asked

His reply was simply this

Out of all the bikes ive had and all the bikes i own i just cant get rid of it as it is SO MUCH FUN

he went on " its not the fastest thing ive had but when i got out on it its just Fun . It does what you want it handles quite well " - this is a bike that has no spring mods or fixes to the suspension -

I go out on rides with him and his mates and even though the sv isnt as fast as any of the other bikes he has had he will openly admit that when he is on the sv the speed of the ride is slightly higher than when he is not

Ive followed him on the sv and you see him somwhere looming in the distance as a dot ,,, on his kwak 1000 which is just a year old now i`m within punching distance ok when a straight comes up he`s gone but how many people honestly buy a bike for the straight bits

As you travel about throughout the world you come across folk last year i happened upon a guy called Steve - Steve has a Kwak zx9r on a v reg-

i took him out on the local run to skeg he nearly put himself through a hedge trying to keep up , On the way home on a route that i knew he knew we exchanged bikes . His thoughts on the SV650 echo Andys " i never would have beleived that it could be so much fun " one line he has come up with on more than one occassion is " going into a corner is awesome,, you come out and the bike is like saying to you ,, OK you did it - NOW GO BACK AND DO IT BETTER "

the fastest bike doesnt necessaraly mean its the best bike Rossie proved that last year

proof that the slower bikes do win

As far as im bothered yes somtimes i would like more speed but to be honest the sv is fast enough capable enough and simple enough for anyone to handle

and like ANDY says " they are so much fun"

I had a SV, now got a GSXR. I love the GSXR for all its qualities, but the SV was a blast and I still get a grin when I hear one with decent pipes on it. The VD bigot did have a point though when he said he feels sorry for anyone who only rides an SV, because there's so many bikes out there it would be a shame just to ride one bike, be it an SV, 999R, MV Agusta or a FS1E. But SV are great for beginners, which is why it gets slated. But then there are those with loads of ability that can get the most out of an SV. I think it's poeple with a bit of experience that get bored as they can't push it any more due to their limitations. I'm probably in this camp, but then I've learned a lot on the GSXR I'd probably get more out the SV now than I ever did. Obviously this VD bloke didn't like the bike but more fool him for not doing his homework before buying.

I think the sv is a sound bike, and I have a zx6......sure they arn't up to it at warp speeds as they are budget bikes after all. How you can try to compare them is a bit daft.
