Also if you put the tax disc on the rear hanger, could you not use one of those 'hanger' lock bolts to ensure its not stolen?

I keep it in my wallet. Been pulled once for my loud can - but they just wanted to have a look at the bike

Coppers said they don't have a problem as long as i carry the tax disc all the time with me.

I've had mine taken. I now use the Oxford case with all the tiny bolts, its fitted onto the radiator LHS.

I had to go to look at the bike to find out. It took me a while to find it, but it's on the front left fork, just in front of the brake caliper.

I redrilled the holder and mounted it under the near-side pillion footrest bracket - using the rear mounting screw and thus pointing towards the rear of the bike.

Its now tucked up under the seat moulding, out of the rain and sh12, is visible but secure. In fact, it looks quite cool (as you young things might say).

If I wasn't old and tecnophobic, I'd stick a nice pic of it on this posting.....but I am, Iam, and I can't. So you'll have to take my word on it![/img]

One of the guys at the the dealership I bought my bike from had his nicked off his bike a few days after putting it on as well, so he told me to keep mine off and so far I've not had problems either, and I've been past plenty of check points, officers etc. Even when I was given a good telling off in Soho for covering up my plate the copper didn't say anything about not having a tax disc displayed.

I've had mine nicked in the past and had to fork out the £15 for a duplicate. If it ever gets nicked again I won't bother to get another one. If I get pulled and questioned over it, I will say I hadn't noticed and that it must have been just stolen. At the end of the day it's recorded as having been purchased so there will always be proof that it is taxed.

Mine is mounted on the headlight bracket pointing backwards so that the disk holder covers the headlight bracket.
