Default ha ha

I did not intend to start a flame war so I will end it with this.

I guess it's okay to talk politics, BUT only if it is something that you agree with? This sounds typical of an extremist. Just because many of the people on this board are from a different country doesn't mean they believe everything you do. I bet there are even some of them that *GASP* support their military too. I know the idea of this is very hard for you to comprehend.

I am not a "tree-hugging liberal", or a "bible-pushing conservative." I am one of the people in the middle that is sick of the Ted Kennedy's and Pat Buchanan's of the world.

I apologize for trying to show you the other side, please go back to watching CBS news and reading the NY Times.

Back on the subject of bikes. I live in Anchorage, AK and I also prefer sv650.org for some reason
Maybe because most everyone here (if not everyone) seems extremely friendly and helpful.

Thanks (I think)

It's truly amazing. From a cpuple of short posts of mine you divine all of the above including my choice of TV show (WRONG, I do not watch any US TV programming) and my choice of newspaper (WRONG: I get all my news from foreign news sources, UK, Irish, Canadian...in case you hadn't noticed there is no longer a functioning free and impartial US news media TV, newspaper or otherwise).

The summarized gist of my posting on this thread is : I stay away from somthing that I find obnoxious and I am happy that I have found something friendly and comfortable, and for this you berate me: What does that say about you?

I will now go about this forum and indulge in my fascination with SV motorcycles, because, and I want you to read this carefully and s-l-o-w-ly: It is remarkably free of the type of ad hominem rhetoric, personal attacks and slurs that are typical of the discussions on the stateside forums, and which you have exemplified here. And long may it remain so.

I am done with you. Happy trails pilgrim

Yeah, just your garden variety thai-boxing, (soon to be) assault-rifle owning biker "hippy" (and lets face it, who isn't?). Categorize me and put me in a box at your peril...
The only hugging I do is with my 2 year old and I prefer Boddingtons's to weed, but hell yeah, I'll ride with you. And you'll be bettering yourself just by the act of me doing so

Say Fox News...Hmmm would that be the same Fox News who's ratings have dropped 58% over the past 6 months and are in freefall? A phrase that begins with "Fooling some of the people some of the time" comes to mind...

smoke anything you want! (weed ought to be legalized, but that's another rant for another day.) I would stay away from crack though. I'll still watch FoxNews. And yes, there is a very good chance you are a better rider than me but I will NEVER turn away any advice that would make me a better, safer rider. So, if you come to Denver, and you have your bike, it's off to the canyons! BTW, guns are rad. I wish the wifey would let me get one again.

Now here is a technical/business question: what is the main difference between, say, a 2001 SV650S and a 2005?
Meaning: carbs vs. fuel injected, or body/suspension design? It honestly seems to me that buying a new one is worth more than a used one since they seem to hold up their prices above NADA. Or am I wrong?
bits o info

early in 2000, suzuki modified the crankcase design (prolly to save .023¢ per unit in manufacturing) turned out to be a recall (the only one that I know of)

no differences in 99/00/01 other than cosmetic
02 preload adjusters were added to the forks
03-04 2nd gen, fuel injected, shares many parts with SV1000
big ass radiator gets muched on tipovers
regulator rectifier is mounted where it can get air
05 slightly smaller radiator

I have 111,600miles on my nekid 99,

It's not my cup of tea, but I totally agree with you.

I was just yanking your chain bro', I've put close to 7K this past year, but I'm still learning. Even on our so called "beginner/girl" bikes it's good idea to remain humble. You have a great attitude, the right attitude.
I have a young 'un and (another coming). I ride to have a good time but I try to "ride to come home".

And if you're ever up here, man we should ride up to Mt St Helens, before she buries Puget Sound in molten mud...BTW here's some gun porn to keep you going

There's a local guy selling LE spec AR-15. I plan on snagging one while they're available

Ride safe

all the boards i frequent are mosly uk based or have a large UK memebrship .. except the kawasaki triples boards. i own 6 bikes, only one is a 4-stroke and newer than 30 yrs old.. and its my 99 SV650.
me, personally, i DO NOT like the second generation ones, they lost some of the personality and feel slower. i have ridden an O4 S model a lot, with a can, one tooth smaller sprocket in front, etc... I still like mine much better.

Regardless, the SV of either the round or box frame is a great bike, the SV1000 is a bit much to chew off for a first sport bike.

I'll never sell my 99. Ever. its the best money i have ever spent on a bike ever.. and that INCLUDES the all original barn-fresh 75 h2 i got a few mos ago for 400 bucks. if you know what that is that will add an ! to this point.

No comment on politics.
