Dude.... I know this doesn't help you one little bit but thanks for posting that. I've just read you post and thought.... hmmm, went straight outside to have a look and I'm right down on minimum, if not a fraction below.

Like I say, I know that doesn't help but cheers for posting.....

Hope you get your bike sorted.

God that's awful.

My bike barely uses oil (only after extended motorway sessions).

But I'm gonna be checking the level when I leave work.

Hope it works out for you

Ouch! Sorry to hear about this mate. If it helps in any way, I'm back in Barry now and go to Cirencester (I can go via George Whites in Swindon if that is the george whites it's at) Monday morning of each week, so I can give you a pillion lift there if you want a 1-way trip to pick the bike up.

Let me know if this helps.

EDIT: Whoops, just noticed you said Slough. Doh!

Hope you don't need a new engine... Hopefully it'll only be a few bearings & rings

Fingers crossed for you

These things are sent to try us, Mass.

We can rebuild her.

And I think I can now pass on my unwanted title of "Wear em out Wilf" to you.

Just read this, and as others have said, I think I'm going to be checking my oil more often.

Hope it's nothing major for you...

I thought I had learned my lesson ?? years ago when I wrecked a 2L Capri engine.
(Yea I know but I thought a capri was sexy then)

Checked my car, wifes car and sons car on Sunday

BUT FORGOT THE BIKE!

Going to do in now.

Hope you get away cheaply.
Bloody cold anyway at the moment!

Hi All,

Just heard back from Suzuki dealers, it's been confirmed I have killed the blue cow!
Ye know when you have that conversation with someone, and it's not really going in because of the shock.
All I heard was the words "Extensive damage" and the figure of 2.5k to re--build.
Then the words - recon engine or secondhand engine.

Ahh well...we live n learn kids..we live n learn...

gutted isn't even close to what I'm feeling.

And kiss goodbye to warranty, even though it had about 1litre of oil in it still, it was clear from the damage that there was NIL oil in engine.
Warranty void - bollox!!

Aw mate, gutted for you...New engine doesn't have to cost a fortune, mind- put it this way, it's better to spend a few hundred quid to put a £4000 bike back on the road than it is to spend nothing and have a £4000 bike in the garage slowly rusting till its worthless. IMO.
