Just leave the guard off and do the rest of your head, trust me you won't cut yourself. I prefer doing that than shaving as my scalp doesn't like to be shaved and I've never had problems.

you could do it US military style. Shave the virtical bits of your head, leave the top a #3 with the clippers. I used to have hair down to my shoulders. Then last july I went out and cut it down to a "buzz cut." That's when I decided I wanted a motorcycle. Three months later I had my SV.

Well
Some 'sensible' friends of ours came round last night and gave some 'useful' advice (after rolling around with laughter) They suggested the US Military look too. So my friend went in the kitchen and shaved the back and sides and left the No3 on top. To be honest it looked less like GI Joe that emerged from the kitchen and more like an overgrown Norwich Canary. So after another glass of wine the 'sensible' friends pointed out that shaving the whole head was the only alternative left. So it all came off. Going to bed last night, the wife rolled up with laughter again, just as she did at football when she ran of with his hat (remember he hadn't shaved the rest of his head whilst at football, so he still had that bald stripe!) then she said "Well, that's one way to get the Boss to agree to a week off at short notice" Getting up this morning he looked in the mirror and saw Grant Mitchell looking back. He only hopes now that his lid doesn't Velco to his head on the way to work. |

Interesting that this last post went from a "friend", to the 1st person (as in I).
Well, no more helmet hair but I think the summer time would have been better.... . |

On the eyebrows thing above. Years ago I was reroofing my leaky garage and had hired one of those tar boilers. Turned on gas. struck match. damm leaky roof and damp matches so got fresh box out of the house struck it. whoops had forgot to turn off gas whilst I went for a fresh box of matches. When I finally picked myself off the floor (now how did I get so far from the garage?) my eyebrows and the fringe at the front of my head (Yeah used to have hair) were cinders. At least eyebrows grew back and these days are more like antennae
