Sometimes when certain mods are suggested I can sense my lips moving involuntarily..when I listen closer the words come as ....but why?

because you can.
It's not about making everybody else like the bike, it's about making it better for the owner. If that means spending many hours converting an overweight component to fit then so be it.

Besides the disect it etc.... the cylinder off set is the opposite on the TL to the SV, rear to the left on the TL, rear to the right on the SV, so my mech told me and it cerainly appears to be the case, just incase anyone is thinking of any other TL/SV swaps.

You have no idea how long it took me to find this using SV Rider's fearsomely terrible search engine Search for "Spondon", 3 hits. Search for "Spondon" posted by me, 30 hits. That's a little odd...
