Nah sorry, not my cup of coffee at all. Too many obvious styling cues from other bikes. Side on looks like a blackbird fairing, frame is a bit Falco-ish or Laverda maybe, tail and wheels are CBR6, Daytona's sharp angles, it's a bit cobbled looking.

Unproven reliability wise, and residual values will no doubt be harsh although not exactly high to begin with which is a plus point i suppose.

Wasn't the Comet a rather poor imitation when tested back to back? I'm sure it has buyers, just not many of us on here.

Some interesting comments thus far

I have to be honest I'm a little surprised by those stating the quality WILL be cr#p.

Come on it's not a bad looking bike at all for the money FGS! Spend an extra few bob on the odd mod and your sorted.Build quality? Largely down to how it is looked after by the owner methinks. If someone is dilligent at tending to a bike then they will probably get good value from that bike.

Just because something in expensive does not necessarily mean it's quality.

Take a Merc for instance

Now where did they end up in the last JD Power survey and interestingly there where two skoda's in the top 5 and there were also 5 Korean cars placed in Front of the first Merc in 60th position.

I'm not defending the Hyosung. I'm just emphasising price or lack of does not always give a clear indication on quality.

Its not the looks or the price or even the spec....

I'm an engineer in a factory and we are buying new equipment at the moment. We were all set to buy some german machinery for £50,000 when some smart ass told the big boss man that the chinese make the "same" equipment for £14,000. Project has been put on hold and chinese machinery bought to assess it....

Now the machine looks identical... but.

The door fell off as we unwrapped it, there aren't sufficient safety lockouts, edges that are chamfered on german machines are razor sharp.... verdict. Binned for safety reasons, we've never even run it to see if it actually worked!

It may look the same and have the same spec on paper, but i suspect that the engineering beneath it all is shoddy.

though obviously this isnt industrial machinery... just my 2p.

Yes.

The motorcycle may be perfectly acceptable but is too closely priced to more established machines to be viable.

I cannot imagine any rider worth his Shoei crawling over a SV or Hornet to get to a Hyosung...for the same dough...and depreciation will be worse too...and would Hyosung have such a fine forum like this? By enthusiasts? Mmmm...

I'm sure Hyosung's time will come and the 650R is ok...but not today.

When they start making TL1000 copies for 4 grand now that is another story

Hyosung is Korean...and maybe at the same point the Japanese were years before...I'm sure they will grow bigger and make better.

I'm pretty sure its Korean not Chinese. They have been quality engineering for decades now - Kia and Hyundai are a good example.

You're not alone.
